Summary:
Artist, curator, historian and educator Beatriz González (Colombia 1938) is considered an emblematic figure in the recent history of Colombian art. In the seventies the artist created the "Escuela de Guías" (School of Guides) in the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá (MAM), considered the first of its kind in a Colombian museum. This text seeks to contribute to the history of these educational objectives, in particular the "Escuela de Guías", from the story of its founder. To do this, the paper begins by investigating the events that allowed González to approach certain educational practices and, from there, observe the relevance of a space for research and approach with the public inside the museum, focusing on the study processes and pedagogical actions that were carried out there. The text traces the artist's passion for teaching processes, exposes her continuous interest in the constitution of spaces for the construction of knowledge and concludes with a reflection on the relationship that, in the case of the first "Escuela de Guías" of the MAM, was generated between curatorial and educational contents.
