At the Jazzahead Festival 2022, Naïssam Jala and her band display a miraculous musical fervor and enthusiasm. Graduating from conservatoire, the Franco-Syrian flautist and composer built her music on a blend of influences, ranging from jazz to hip-hop. As its title indicates, this concert is a beautiful and magnificent anthem to resistance. During her professional career, Naïssam Jala moved several times, oscillating between France and the Arab world. She has notably collaborated with Katibe 5, a well-known rap group, as well as the Egyptian pianist Fathy Salama, and Tony Allen. Through this incessant dialogue between musicians from both the East and the West, she creates distinctive, colorful, and creative works.
