- Summary:
- At the prestigious Salle Pleyel in Paris, The Amazing Keystone Big Band invites Célia Kaméni, China Moses, Sarah McKenzie, and Biréli Lagrène for an auspicious concert in a perfect setting. The fantastic French jazz band includes pianist Fred Nardin, who participated in its creation in 2010 with saxophonist Jon Boutellier, trombonist Bastien Ballaz, and trumpeter David Enhco. From accompanying the lyrical flourishes of Célia Kameni to complementing the prodigious improvisations of Biréli Lagrène, the ensemble honors the big bands of the swing era, as well as the ingenuity of modern jazz. This respect for the tradition of 1940s classic jazz formations, combined with fierce and original sonorities, is breathtaking from start to finish. The concert marks an opportunity to cover, and most notably reinvent, vocal jazz standards including How High The Moon. The commanding presence of Célia Kameni, French singer of Cameroonian origin and a leading figure in today’s vocal jazz scene, is undeniable, and her warm timbre—as well as her perfect technique—are simply stunning! This is just one of over 500 amazing jazz concerts available on medici.tv!.
