American pianist Geri Allen is an important figure in the history of jazz. She began her career alongside Oliver Lake, Joseph Jarman, and Lestor Bowie, and joined Steve Coleman’s band in the mid-80s. Active in traditional jazz, contemporary music, and funk, Geri Allen has distinguished herself in her bands, solo performances, as well as in collaborations with Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette, and Ornette Coleman. American pianist and composer Craig Taborn is one of the most brilliant creators of contemporary jazz. He performs with his own groups or as a soloist in jazz, electronic music, rock, noise and improvised music. Craig Taborn has performed and recorded with musicians such as Roscoe Mitchell, Lester Bowie, Dave Holland, Rudresh Manhathappa, Tim Berne, John Zorn, Evan Parker, Steve Coleman, Chris Potter, and William Parker.
