Summary:
A fine book containing poems about water and prints by Clare Curtis, Bert Eastman, Rigby Graham, Victoria Hall, Eric Hasse, Paul Kershaw, Ann Muir, and Mark Walmsley.
Notes:
"The typeface, apart from one word of Pabst Wavy on the title page, is Monotype Garamond, 14 pt roman for the text and 18 pt italic for the titling, used only when the title is not the same as the first line. The paper is Zerkall, edelweiss halbmatt (ref 7624). It is acid-free, neutral sized, and alkaline buffered with calcium carbonate. It was supplied by John Purcell Paper of London. The coloured inks, including the Charcoal used for Paul Kershaw's wood engraving, are traditional linseed oil relief printing inks, and were mixed by Hawthorn Printmaker of Appleton Roebuck, York. Five hundred and fifty copies of this book have been printed: four hundred have been issued as sets of sheets for the International Competition of Designer Bookbinders. Selected examples will be shown at the Bodleian Library, Oxford, in 2009, details of which will be found at designerbookbinders.org.uk."--Colophon.
"This is one of the balance of a hudnred and fifty copies issued by Incline Press. It shares all of the above characteristics, and is bound in a unique decorated paper created by Mark Walmsley. This copy was bound for Jean-François Vilain"--Colophon.
