Letters of Thomas Jameson Torrie to John Murray II and to John Murray III; and letters and uncertain date, of Catherine Jameson Torrie to John Murray III; included is a letter, 1858, of David Brown on behalf of Catherine Torrie. The letters of Thomas Jameson Torrie include detailed descriptions of his travels and residence in Europe, news of mutual friends, and comment on geological interests. Later letters show a continued close friendship, concentrating on family news. The letters are arranged alphabetically by correspondent and by date under both names.
