"Folios 1-4 : proofs of the title-page, preface, contents and list of illustrations. The title-page differs minutely from the 1857 edition with index. Folios 5-6 : two impressions from a lithograph [?] depicting a Bechuana reed dance. One copy of the lithograph (folio 5) has at its foot a manuscript note, "Bechuana reed dance by moonlight". It also differs in tone from the other copy (folio 6). The image depicted in the lithograph differs significantly from that under the caption "Bechuana reed-dance by moonlight" facing page 225 of "Missionary travels and researches in South Africa".".
