"Bound book containing decoration and lettering on spine. Included with the manuscript is a letter of Brougham to John Murray III concerning the manuscript, and a marked proof of the article. Also includes an article by Brougham on the "Criminal Law Digest" published in "The Quarterly Review", volume 94, number 188, March 1854, article 5, pages 461-466. The article is a consideration of "A letter to the Lord Chancellor, containing observations on the answers of the Judges to the Lord Chancellor`s letter on the Criminal Law Bills of the last session of Parliament" by C.P. Greaves and J.J. Lonsdale. A further article is inserted loose in back cover: Brougham`s article, "The Judges on codification" published in the "Edinburgh Review", volume 99, April 1854, pages 573-581."
