Publisher's advt. on last leaf of v. 7 indicates that original weekly numbers included engraved t.p. and frontis. plate.

A collection of previously published novels, including: Pamela, Sir Charles Grandison, Clarissa Harlowe, Don Quixote, an abridged ed. of Gil Blas translated by Smollett, and miscellaneous romances; no. 75-84 [v. 7?] concludes with portraits and biographical sketches of Smollett and Alain René Le Sage. Not to be confused with a similar title published by Harrison and Co. in the 1780s.

An unnumbered supplemental vol. contains no. 85-94.
Volumes irregularly numbered; the first coll. vol. of the weekly issues of each novel is apparently numbered "I", however since only one copy is known to exist it is impossible to be sure of this.
