The humble petition of Paul Welles, of Cuddesden in the county of Oxford, sheweth, that in the year 1748 your petitioner was arrested by reason of his being bound for a debt of his unfortunate son, to the amount of upwards of five hundred pounds, and thrown into Oxford goal, where he remained a prisoner till October 1751 [electronic resource].
