- Notes:
- Subsequent issues were published as the Massachusetts register and United States calendar by John West and Manning & Loring.
- Entered by Evans under the publishers, Thomas and John Fleet, whose names also appear in earlier issues as editors. The present Thomas Fleet is the son of the Thomas Fleet who died in March, 1797.
- The almanac is by Nathanael Low. The eclipse predictions and notes on Venus, p. [4], duplicate those in his An astronomical diary or almanack for 1800, also published by Fleet. The calculations on the calendar pages are identical in the two almanacs, except that those for the moon's phases are here abbreviated. The weather predictions and astronomical notes on these pages tend to correspond, except that as usual their number is reduced in the Pocket almanack.
- Advertised in the Independent chronicle, Boston, Dec. 16/19, 1799.
- Two states noted. In one, p. 172 ends with advertisement: "William Harris is a notary public in Boston. .." Contrary to Evans' statement (35487) this variant has one more name on p. 141 than the other. In the other, termed by Evans the second impression, the last item on p. 172 reads: "The result of the valuation in Massachusetts .. was not received in season for this publication." The "Additions and corrections" on p. 169-170 contain three additional items and two alterations.
- "The Massachusetts register, &c."--172 p. at end.
