To those who do not posses, the environs of London, the index will prove so much of a description, as to make it a pleasing independent work, tending to preserve the perishable forms of many a building whose fate has been pronounced, and whose remembrance shall only be had from this and similar works. Sic transit gloria mundi. Vol. I.
