- Edited by Donald W. Knoepfler from the manuscript in the Lilly Library, Indiana University. The manuscript was printed in 1927 in an edition of 200 copies commissioned by M. Harzof, New York, but most copies were destroyed at his order before distribution. One copy is in the Lilly Library with Twain's manuscript.
- Limited edition of 150 numbered copies, signed by the engraver.
- Included at end is a facsimile of a letter from Twain to C.H. Webb, dated Nov. 25 [1867?] explaining why he was unable to complete the play.
