- Summary:
- "The Herald of Asia was an English weekly (later trimonthly) magazine published by Motosada Zumoto, a famous journalist who launched the Japan Times. The Herald of Asia was published from 1916-23 and then revived and briefly published from 1937-38. This module includes the full run of the periodical [400 issues total]. The Herald of Asia began as a weekly review of not only events in Japan, but also East Asia from a Japanese perspective at a time when World War I was raging in Europe. The Herald’s mission was, as Zumoto explained, “to present to the public a fair and honest view of current events in this part of the world.” – bibliographer description and product flyer
