- Summary:
- A young woman tells how as a child, her mother made her see a psychiatrist. Now, she is in college and is seeking help on her own. She tells of problems with a boyfriend, who she followed to college, but is happy she is living her dream of studying journalism. She tells of many complicated worries, and says she is seeking a stronger sleep medication since the previous medication is no longer working. She describes how she also cannot sleep since her boyfriend watches TV in the bedroom, but also reports she likes to listen to music her boyfriend doesn't like. The conflict leads to her having to sleep on the couch. She tells of having marked depression that drives her boyfriend away, even though he is studying to be a psychiatrist, making her more depressed. She has been on an antidepressant (SSRI) for six years, prescribed by her father. She describes her marked sleep problems and resulting daytime exhaustion.
