Summary:

Darrell is upset that he has to speak with the doctor today. Instead, he is adamant that his wife should be the one sitting in his place as he insists she is cheating on him. He describes a sixth sense hunch, certain that the signs point to his wife's affair and with whom she is having the affair. Now he is unable to find his wife attractive and must set rules to prohibit his wife from interacting with 'him'. This training title highlights the major symptoms of Delusional Disorder. Symptoms of Delusional Disorder may include: non-bizarre delusions (id est, involving situations that occur in real life, such as being followed, poisoned, infected, loved at a distance, deceived by spouse or lover, or having a disease) of at least 1 month's duration. Criteria for Schizophrenia (hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech, disorganized or catatonic behaviors, and negatives symptoms) must not be present. Note: Tactile and olfactory hallucinations may be present in Delusional Disorder if they are not prominent and are related to the delusional theme. Apart form the impact of the delusion(s) or its ramifications, functioning must not be not markedly impaired and behavior must not be obviously odd or bizarre. If mood episodes have occurred concurrently with delusions, their total duration must be brief relative to the duration of the delusional periods. The disturbance must not be due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, a medication) or a general medical condition. Jealous Type: delusions that the individual's sexual partner is unfaithful.
