Summary:

Interview with anthropologist and collector María Teresa Cristiana Pomar Aguilar (Guanajuato, 1919 - México City, 2010), who in life had as main objective to preserve, study and exhibit pieces of Mexican folk art, devoting practically all her life to the Mexican indigenous culture. She was the daughter of renowned Mexican musician José Pomar and in 1940, she became a collector of objects of popular art: textiles, glass, miniature, toys, cardboard and others, which began to present them in national and foreign exhibitions. She was the founder of the Fondo Nacional para el Fomento de las Artesanías. She also founded and was president of Populart, body responsible for setting up the Museo Nacional de Arte Popular. She was director of theMuseo Universitario de Artes Populares María Teresa Pomar, institution that adopted her name in her honor. He was also part of the founding group of theMuseo de Arte Popular en la Ciudad de México, known as "Las tequileras".
