Summary:

Marcelo Cabello y Llave was a leader of first importance in Lima at the end of the viceroyalty. The dopted son of master silversmith Doroteo Cabello and Petronila de la Llave, he must have learned the rudiments of the burin trade within his father workshop. The book reconstructs, after a thorough research of secondary and new documentary sources from the Archivo General de la Nación, the life and through a catalogue raisonné, the work created by the artist between 1796 and 1827, a period in which he develops all the genres of an engraver for that period: portraiture, religious print, plans, typographical, burial mounds, etc.
