- Summary:
- Volume III of an abridged and inaccurate translation of the first three decades of Herrera's 'Historia general de los hechos de los castellanos'. This volume focuses on the exploits of Hernan Cortes in Mexico, including the death of Aztec ruler Moctezuma II, the establishment of the Segura de la Frontera colony (Tepeaca, Mexico) and the battle between Cortes and Pánfilo Narváez. It also includes the discovery of the Magellan Straits, the death of Ferdinand Magellan, and routes via the Maluka Islands in Indonesia.
