Description: Barry Day's first interview with Theo Crosby, the Globe Trust's previous architect. Theo Crosby discusses the cost of completing the auditorium, licencing issues, the role of Sam Wanamaker, mentions other theatres including the Barbican and the National Theatre, architectural styles, the original vision for authenticity of Wanamaker and other key figures at the beginning of the project, council approval and planning permission and the way that playing alternated according to the season in Shakespeare's time. The historical context surrounding the Globe is also brought up along with issues related to construction such as carpentry and repairs, noise levels inside and outside of the theatre, the amount of seating space, draws comparisons to the Rose Theatre, audience response. Crosby also makes the point that there is a danger of 'simply creating a museum theatre for an audience that no longer exists'.
