Summary:
Description: Barry Day's second interview with Theo Crosby, the Globe Trust's previous architect. Crosby discusses the cost of completing the auditorium and the stage house, health and safety issues like fire exits, licensing needs, what made Crosby believe in Sam Wanamaker's vision, issues with funding in the early stages of the project. The problems faced by the Globe in its early days are also mentioned, including its disastrous season where a tent collapsed and landed everybody involved in the project in debt. Other issues raised include initial considerations about the building such as the size, scale and orientation of the building, drawings used for reference for the construction, noise levels and original costume and embroidery.
