Summary:
Description: Documents relating to the 2000 performance of The Antipodes at The Globe, written in 2001. The documents contain details regarding the suitability of The Globe as a setting for the play, ways to introduce additional seating for an on-stage audience and the way in which the tiring-house could be used. Costume is also discussed in terms of the kind of style best suited to the production and the wigs and hairstyles appropriate to the time period. Music is considered in terms of flourishes in the text, sound levels and the mixing of different styles. Research materials and books are also brought in to help provide context and historical accuracy and general discussions are had about issues relevant to the time such as sex, medicine, and politics. There is also a section on movement in rehearsal which encouraged actors to isolate their movements to express new emotions.
