- Description: Parties: (1) George II (2) Stationers' Company. Substantive clauses are as follows:(a) The King pardons the Company for the offence of accepting estates without licence, although it may be or not be impeached, prosecuted, convicted, adjudged or condemned concerning the premises, and also all impeachements, inquisitions, informations etc. whatsoever by reason of the premises which the King or his heirs can claim against the Company.(b) The King grants the Company special license, power and authority to hold the estates in mortmain for its use and to grant, alien, sell etc. the estates to anyone in perpetuity or otherwise, and in doing so to purchase, acquire, take, hold etc. in mortmain other lands, tenements or hereditaments of the annual value as those they may dispose of.(c) The King grants special license to any persons or bodies to grant, alien, sell, convey and dispose of in mortmain in perpetuity, to the use and benefit of or in trust for the Company, any manors, messuages etc. not exceeding the yearly value of so much of the estates that the Company thinks fit dispose of, whereof it or its trustees are seized or possessed above all charges and reprises.
