- Śina Sapa Wocekiye taeyanpaha (The Herald of the Black Robe's Church) was published between 1892-1939. Also known as the Catholic Sioux Herald, this paper was started by Saint Paul's Catholic Indian Mission to the Yankton Tribe of the Sioux Nation. The primary person listed as publisher is Reverend Jerome Hunt. Each issues usually has 4 to 8 pages, and it generally starts with story or a teaching from the Christian faith, or part of the history of the Church or the Bible. This is then followed by letters, updates, and other information submitted by various missions, churches, and schools around North and South Dakota, from Lakota/Dakota speaking communities. These letters are interspersed with response letters, news items (both local and national), as well as sayings and teachings from the Catholic faith.
