- Summary:
- Issued by the office of the federally funded Hopi Action program, Hopi Action News originally began as a weekly newsletter. Informative content primarily focused on the civic actions of the Tribal Council on the Hopi Reservation and the Head Start educational programme. After a format change in 1968, Hopi Action News became a full-page supplement in Winslow, Arizona's newspaper the Mail while retaining its own masthead and date. This resulted in substantial stylistic and content changes. Whereas earlier it had been mimeographed, later issues featured photographs of life on the Reservation. Articles, meanwhile, began to focus on local news and sport.
