Summary:
A monthly publication published by the Shuswap Nation, the Secwepemc News focussed primarily on news and events within the Secwepemc Territory in British Columbia. At the height of publication, this newspaper was available, freely, at over two hundred outlets within Shuswap Country, later moving online. Example articles within this collection include discussions of news and issues relating to the local community, such as fishing rights, assimilation, education, land claims and the Tribal Council. The News also occasionally published special editions to be used as teaching resources.
