The AUSIT Code of Ethics is binding for all members of the professional association and is endorsed by NAATI, the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters and also adopted by NZSTI, the professional association of translators and interpreters in New Zealand. Uldis Ozolins (Monash University, Melbourne) was a main instigator of the intensive two-year revision process that involved leading researchers and academics, senior AUSIT members, major translation agencies, the management of NAATI, and important state entities that rely on the services of qualified practitioners.
