Summary:
Montserrat Figueras takes us on musical and spiritual quest, in which she tells us about her life and shares her own personal view of her art, music and song. Through interviews and musical extracts, this film portraits the Spanish soprano, a Major figure in early music and the leading voice of a vast Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque repertoire. By combining fidelity to historical sources with exceptional levels of creativity and expression, Montserrat Figueras and Jordi Savall played a decisive role in the revitalisation of the early music movement. Montserrat Figueras performed at the leading festivals in Europe, America and the East. Amongst the 70 or more CDs that she recorded, many received prestigious awards; she was nominated for the Grammys (2001 and 2002) and in 2003 was awarded the distinction of "Officier de l'ordre des Arts et Lettres" by the French government.
