Summary:
"World Music" travels to a Greek island which seems to be floating in mid-air, like its music and dances: Crete. In this second part of this documentary, "World Music" makes a long stop at the village of Anogeia, high on Psiloritis Mountain, the largest "musical tank" in the whole of Crete, where the great singer Nikos Xylouris was born. The Anogeian musical identity was created through the "Parea" meetings, jam sessions which form the fabric of the evolution of the musical tradition. Attending one of the "Parea" meetings, led by lyre virtuoso Nikiforos Aerakis, responsible for the evolution of this kind of "ancient ritual," Leonidas Antonopoulos unfolds the history and the musical tradition of Anogeia
