- Summary:
- The music of Ljubljana is as diverse as its country. Situated in the middle of Croatia, Italy, Hungary and Austria, Slovenian music has been influenced by all its neighbouring countries. This documentary is an attempt to meet with some of the most representative musical genres and musicians of this extremely small but yet highly talented country. Magnifico, Katalena, Chris Eckman (The Walkabouts) and the Orlek are some of them. As Luka Zagorinic, radio editor of the most alternative station in town says, "It's very difficult to say that there is a representative genre of the Ljubljana contemporary music scene. Here you have to be open to everything. From Balkan brass sound, rock and pop music to traditional polkas and other folk rhythms. The problem with a country as small as Slovenia (2 million people) is that it is very hard to survive as a musician."
