Summary:
Jan Lisiecki, the Canadian rising star of the piano, performs works by Mozart, Bach and Chopin at the Verbier Festival. On the 23th and the 25th of July 2013, Jan Lisiecki gave two memorable concerts at the Verbier Festival. Both were broadcast live on medici.tv, and this programme combines in a single video of the two concerts given by the young Canadian pianist. Considered by the BBC Music Magazine as "probably the most accomplished pianist of his age," Jan Lisiecki has already won several international competitions, including the OSM Standard Life Competition in 2009, and shared the stage with the greatest musicians on the contemporary musical scene: Yo-Yo Ma, Pinchas Zukerman, James Ehnes, and Emanuel Ax, to name but a few. Recorded during the 20th anniversary edition of the Verbier Festival in 2013, Jan Lisiecki performs here Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Concerto No. 20 with Christian Zacharias, Bach's Partita No. 1 in B flat Major, BWV 825 and several works composed by Frederic Chopin, including the Nocturne in C sharp Minor, Op. posth., the Études, Op. 10 as well as two other etudes from the opus 25.
