Summary:
"Once Upon a Time in the West," it's his music. In October 2004, he conducted his pieces & What part did Ennio Morricone's music play in the success of Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, For a Fistful of Dollars)? It is impossible to say exactly, but in any case it certainly contributed to it. The Italian composer was born in 1928 and studied "serious" music at the Academy of Saint Cecilia in Rome as a trumpeter then as a conductor. He then went on to write more than four hundred music scores for the cinema! In Munich, during a concert in October 2004, he conducted a selection of his pieces, ranging from the scores for the famous westerns by Leone to Cinema Paradiso, The Sicilian Clan, The Working Class Goes to Heaven, 1900, The Mission, Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion, etc. The images from three films, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Cinema ParadisoThe Desert of the Tartars were selected to accompany their musical scores which usually accompany them. A fitting reversal of roles!
