- Summary:
- At the Salzburg Festival 2013, the Austrian conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt conducts rehearsals of Seasons by Joseph Haydn. Haydn composed his oratorio Die Jahreszeiten (The Seasons) to the end of his life, between 1799 and 1801 based on the poem by James Thomson, after the huge success of The Creation. With the vision of "creating one sound miracle after another" (Drehpunktkultur), Nikolaus Harnoncourt revisits this brilliant work in which music is truly a reflection of the images of the poem. Featuring interviews from the distinguished conductor, the documentary follows the rehearsals of the Wiener Philharmoniker and Wiener Konzertvereinigung Staatsopernchor at the Salzburg Festival 2013.
