Summary:
A distinguished violin teacher, Ana Chumachenco reveals her pedagogy, teaching Mozart's concertos for violin. Ana Chumachenco is internationally considered one of the foremost violin teachers. Her father, a student of the great Leopold Auer, encouraged her at the age of four to play the piano, and gave her himself her first lessons. At 18, she was awarded the gold medal at the Carl Fleisch competition in London. Yehudi Menuhin, Joseph Sigeti and Sandor Vegh were among her mentors at that time. Not only an excellent violinist passionate about chamber music, she is also very keen on teaching. Currently a professor at the renowned Musikhochschule in Munich, the talented violinist is in her element in this masterclass, showing to students her performance of Mozart's first movements of the Concerto for violin No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 composed by Mozart when he was only nineteen. The Masterclass Media Foundation Archives offer to students and music lovers around the world filmed masterclasses, given by the best talents, on the greatest works of the classical repertoire. Their primary purpose is to provide a valuable educational resource in order to perpetuate passion and knowledge from one generation to another.
