Summary:

This fourth publication in the "Catastros y Estudios del Patrimonio" collection continues with the objective of presenting a set of cultural interest that has been little studied, making available to the public a record accompanied by research that seeks to publicize a heritage that has been ignored until today. This book proposes to unveil and value works belonging to the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts that allow us to reflect on the ways in which Africans and their descendants were represented. Likewise, the work implies a greater effort: to go against the current of the dominant narratives of the nation, which have excluded this population group from their imaginary.
