Summary:

The book covers, through a series of texts on artists, architecture and aesthetics, the condition of art in the course of the century, including the study of the work of six current artists: Carlos Garaicoa, Dionisio González, Sara Roitman, Daniel Verbis, Fernando Prats and Bernardo Oyarzún, these last two graduates of the Universidad de Chile and representatives in the Chilean pavilion of La Biennale di Venezia. "We live in the age of widespread museography, and yet there is hardly any memory. All that manifests are banal memories, small anecdotes, mischief with which to "kill time". It is as if the ability to produce events endowed with intensity, surrounded by a horizon of tedium, has been lost." Author Fernando Castro Flórez (Plasencia, Cáceres 1964) is a Spanish philosopher and PhD in Aesthetics from the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he is a full time professor. Over the years he has become a renowned art critic and has curated more than a hundred exhibitions around the world.
