- Summary:
- History and contributions of IAIHAU as told "by those who lived it." The Institute was founded in 1978 by eight architects from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad de Buenos Aires as a consequence of the process of democratic irruption and intervention in the universities by the government of the military dictatorship. Its main objective was to introduce the research of architecture and urbanism in Argentina, with a Latin American perspective and to defend the university heritage and professional associations. In 1995 the IAIHAU gave rise to the Centro de Documentación de Arquitectura Latinoamericana (CEDODAL) who gave continuity to the objectives of research and dissemination of Latin American and Argentine literature of the Institute. The structure of the book includes a presentation and thirteen chapters that respond to the multiple tasks that encompass the effort of the Instituto Argentino de Investigaciones de Historia de la Arquitectura y el Urbanismo (IAIHAU) between 1978 and 1995.
