Summary:
In Chile, the Universidad del Bío-Bío has a robotic arm with which construction tests have been carried out since at least 2018, although always of an experimental level. Thinking about a more practical applications in the concrete construction sector, architect Verónica Arcos, director of the architectural firm Verónica Arcos Arquitectos and academic of the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, is developing a project called "Anaquel de Manufactura Aditiva: Hacia un Nuevo Lenguaje Arquitectónico" (Additive Manufacturing Shelf: Towards a New Architectural Language), to move from the experimental field to with the use of Additive Manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing to build with concrete, particularly in the social housing area.
