Summary:

Ollantaytambo is a town and an Inca archaeological site located in northwest of the city of Cusco, in what is known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. During the Inca Empire, Ollantaytambo was the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti, who conquered the region, and built the town and a ceremonial center. At the time of the Spanish conquest of Peru, it served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui, leader of the Inca resistance. The present edition rescues the archeological history of the archaeological works on the waterways and irrigation systems used for agriculture, the walls and the palace architecture and the constructed roads of this important site.
