Summary:
The retrospective presented the art oeuvre of more than four decades of artist Augusta Barreda Benavides (Lima, 1954). The artist discovers in her early studies in Brazil the practice of varied techniques of engraving (1978-1995). Progressively she becomes interested in the possibilities of the work built on the basis of modular pieces and thus appear her installations, collages, sculptures and photographs (1990-2022), that like her prints are always inspired by nature, such as vegetation, stone, metal, are some of the materials used, complementing the production, whether manual or technologically assisted. She was founder and teacher at the engraving workshop El Tallerʺ between 1980 and 1987 and also professor in the engraving specialty at Bellas Artes National School of Lima from 1981 to 1984.
