- 本书从创作学和文体学的角度考察了唐前诗赋交互影响和发展的历史.赋的兴起与"诗"纠缠不清,以荀赋始立赋体而昭示了诗赋二体的根本分野和趋同可能;汉赋为一代之文学,不乏借"诗"以自重而获得""雅""颂"之亚"的地位,且以铺陈的原则规限赋物事的题材,发展出"奥博"而流动的体势之美.三国时乐府和五言徒诗相继大兴,始起赋主诗从的地位变化,"六朝之体"转变了汉赋写法,变四言铺陈为流动萧散的六言描写,并渐多骈偶,这与赋物的理论在玄学的影响中共同促成了赋体的诗化倾向;另一方面赋的转变也影响了乐府和五言徒诗的"绮靡"发展,但整体成就不高.以骈偶和声律为中心的形式主义美学一方面促使赋体诗化并与之趋同,另方面在诗中大放异彩,由此决定了"赋亡诗兴"的文学转型.创作的观念决定了文体的生成和损益,诗赋文体的互动历程昭示了二体的根本性质,同时也体现了文学演进的内在理路,其中展演的是唐前文学肌理明晰,丰富生动的"过程之美".
