Summary:
From publisher's website: The ratihabitio in Classical Roman Law: The present study sheds a light on select dogmatic questions concerning the ratihabitio in Classical Roman Law. Although the ratihabitio boasts a long tradition in jurisprudence, there has been a lack of a recent German-language study. It turns out that the legal figure of the ratihabitio is close, yet alien, to the legal institution of ratification under § 184 (1) of the Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (the German Civil Code).
