- Summary:
- At the end of the 19th century, a host of Italian artists migrated to the Argentine Republic. Among them stood out a young sculptor, Luigi Trinchero (1862-1944), trained at the Albertina Academy in Turin and outstanding for his mastery as a decorativist. Quickly linked with the Buenos Aires elite, Luigi Trinchero was summoned to decorate public buildings, private residences, mausoleums, project monuments and model busts of heroes and famous men, but without a doubt his most visible and consecrated work was done when he was hired by the Intendencia de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, with the company and Amellini Pellizari, to perform all indoor and outdoor sculptures at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires
