Summary:
Major work on the art and life of Luis Alarcón Coronado (Huancavelica, Perú 1958) with texts, interviews, reviews, and photographs that cover his biography and his 4 decades of art work. In the long years in which his vocation has been consolidated in a work that by the theme, intention, execution, composition, handling of materials, is a reflection of his interest in the study of an ancestral quality, a subject in which he recognizes "first world art", the concern for the human condition, the future of the planet, freedom, pain, loneliness, fantasy, and love. From 1980 to 1990, there is an intelligent opening, although he is still an academic painter, he is not alienated from the influences of the past. From 1990 to 2000, he followed a novel aesthetic route because he dared to open unsuspected paths and penetrated the essence of shapes with defined lines. From 2000 to 2010, he assumes a symbolic style where formal reality acquires a strange enigmatic turbulence in each work. From 2000 to the present, his plastic and literary production he works on canvas and cotton paper, he makes installations that reflect in his content the philosophy of conceptual art, his masks and wood carvings have a very strange ancestral connotation.
