- Summary:
- Ugo Camandona (Italia 1923 - Perú, 2010) was a successful artist, whose work could be seen in public spaces in Lima, suddenly, in the mid-eighties he chooses to separate himself from the artistic medium, a decision also made by his friend and contemporary, the painter Sabino Springett. Camandona (or DONÁ, as he signed his works), was a multifaceted artist, who dabbled in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography and decorative arts. But the work that offered him the most success and projection were his oils of dreamlike themes, rich in eroticism, humor and sensuality. The anthological exhibition rediscovers his forgotten (by decision by the artist) vast oeuvre: a body of work that worships the female body (never the face, only its forms), and the landscape of the country that welcomed him.
