Summary:

Retrospective Rehearsal is an approach to the rich career of Bruno Zeppilli (Lima 1954), a complex artist who fuses in his works both the history of Western art, particularly the Quattrocento, and the tradition of popular art in Peru. All this together with enigmatic elements of our contemporaneity. The results are great paintings that stand out both for their iconography and for short brushstrokes and glazes with which he builds an image in which he fuses religion with pleasure, and, in turn, pleasure with pain, guilt and punishment. The result can be operatic and shows Zeppilli's penchant for classical music and movies.
