Summary:
This is a replacement ketubah for the couple represented in UPenn CAJS Rar Ms 613; this manuscript uses the language of כתובה דאירכסא (a reissue and replacement for a lost or damaged ketubah; Shulḥan ʻarukh Even ha-ʻezer 66:3-4), possibly for the purpose of updating the legal terms of the ketubah upon their relocation from Ten'em, Yemen. Written in Jerusalem (then Mandatory Palestine), 30 Kislev 5696 (Thursday, December 26, 1935); written in 22 lines, frame-ruled in lead; written in a Sephardic semicursive script. Signatures below text: Avraham ibn Seliman Tsabari and Seliman Ḳeruʼani (?). Item foxed and frayed; repaired and mounted on linen.
