- This is a ketubah (a Jewish marriage contract), form-printed on parchment, inscribed and signed in Amsterdam, 17 Av 5627 (Sunday, August 18, 1867); the groom was Barukh, son of Yehudah Leib ha-kohen (his signature at bottom "B.L. Pressen"); the bride was Feigele, daughter of Uri Feyes; witnesses Yitsḥaḳ Heyman (Isaac Heymann (1829-1906), called "Gneser Chazzen", cantor and composer, father of pianist Karl Heymann (1853-1922)) and Eliaḳim ben Avraham Forler, a reverend in the Ashkenazic community. Spaces filled in an Ashkenazic square script; form decorations in woodcut: two winged trumpeting angels facing a centered crown, with a mount of ribbons and wildflowers; cartouche with a six-pointed star below, with a harp in the center and קאא at corners (standing for קהילת אשכנזים אמשטרדם); two outer shields parallel facing angels; two fluted columns at sides.
