Summary:
Exploring the impact of meditation on men's mental health, Tim Lomas conducted in-depth interviews with 30 male meditators in London, UK, in which he elicited their narratives of engagement with meditation, exploring themes relating to masculinity and mental health. Participants also undertook a cognitive neuroscience session, comprising cognitive tasks and concurrent electroencephalography measurement, to examine the development of emotional awareness through meditation. This account offers a number of valuable methodological lessons for students.
