Summary:
Education students were asked to reflect on a placement in which they tutored in an after-school writing programme. The study looked at the ways arts constructions might prompt their motivation and abilities to thoughtfully consider their work. Specific modes of reflection were monitored and compared, with email message proving to reveal little contemplation and arts-based techniques, particularly poetry, fostering and illuminating their pedagogical introspections.
